Story[]
At Meijo Crown FSC, Mario Nachi has lost all of her private lesson students due to her blunt personality clashing with the parents. A fellow coach happens to be looking to offload a troublesome student, and Mario eagerly agrees to take over. She is introduced to Ryoka Miketa, who she finds very cute, and her overly polite mother.
As soon as they begin talking however, the two clash. Ryoka finds Mario's friendly vibe gross and speaks rudely, while Mario also refuses to back down. Ryoka argues that, as the paying party, she's not here to learn manners, but Mario counters that if they don't provide lessons matching the fee received, they're essentially taking extra payment they haven't earned. Still, Mario admits Ryoka isn't entirely wrong. To settle this, Mario proposes a race across the rink, where the loser will have to listen to the winner. Ryoka is confident that she can win, but Mario passes her effortlessly and bursts into laughter, making fun of Ryoka after her victory.
Frustrated, Ryoka throws a fit, calling the race unfair, prompting Mario to point out her sudden change in attitude. She then follows by analyzing why Ryoka is slow — she's putting too much weight on her toes and trying to run as if on land. However, she then praises Ryoka, finding the speed she achieved despite suboptimal form amazing, and declaring that Ryoka has guts and potential and will overtake her in no time. Ryoka is caught off-guard and eventually asks to be taught the proper form, allowing Mario to finally give her actual instructions, much to the astonishment of the other coaches.
Meanwhile, head coach Akira Ryugu recalls a conversation from when Mario was his student: Mario tells him that if she ever can't jump anymore, she wants to become a coach and create a club where anyone can skate and have fun, regardless of background, personality, or skill. Believing she will realize her true coaching potential when not tied down, Akira begins making arrangements to help establish an independent club for Mario and Ryoka, intrigued to see where the pair's future leads.
