Story[]
As a child, Dahlia often visited the skating rink near her house to pick up fallen sequins and beads on the ice. Yutaka Kyoboku noticed her, which eventually led her to start skating at the age of 7. While she and Iruka Okazaki often took their badge tests together, they only become close friends after both becoming designated skaters at middle school age.[1]
Dahlia first appears in the story during the All-Japan Novice, watching a livestream of the event with her friends Iruka, Neneko, and Kino. When Kino questions whether they would change their routines to achieve their goals, Dahlia answers that she wouldn't, believing adjustments based on the competition indicates insufficient preparation.[2]

Dahlia and Inori
The next year, Dahlia attends a training camp in Osaka held by the federation. There, Inori Yuitsuka approaches her to ask about Iruka, confused by her constant badmouthing of her sister Mika. Dahlia has Inori sit down and proceeds to decorates her hair with ribbons, as she explains Iruka's past relationship with Mika. She shares her belief that Iruka holds no personal grudge against Inori, and in fact deeply cares about her. Their conversation is interrupted by Iruka herself, but she and Inori soon reconcile.[3]
Later, Dahlia competes in the All-Japan Junior. During practice time for her short program, Iruka unexpectedly suffers an injury that forces her to withdraw. Dahlia is mentally shaken, but Iruka shouts at her to pull herself together as Coach Seiji carries her away.[4] Ultimately, Dahlia scores 66.80 in her short program and 124.37 in her free skate, finishing with a total of 191.17.[5]
Iruka's injuries also force her to withdraw from the upcoming Junior Grand Prix finals. As a result, Dahlia is chosen to replace her.[6]
