The anime adaptation of the manga series Medalist, produced by ENGI and directed by Yasutaka Yamamoto, was first announced on May 18, 2023. It premiered on the NUMAnimation programming block across all ANN affiliates, including TV Asahi, and is available for streaming on Disney+ globally as well as Hulu in the United States.
Season 1 aired from January 5, 2025 to March 30, 2025. Season 2 was announced immediately following the conclusion of the first season.
The anime features skating routines choreographed by retired figure skater Akiko Suzuki, in collaboration with retired figure skater Yuhana Yokoi and active figure skater Hinano Isobe.

Trivia[]
- Tsurumaikada is a long-time fan of voice actress Natsumi Haruse, initially known for her role as Kaoru Ryuzaki from THE iDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS. Tsurumaikada envisioned Natsumi Haruse in the main role while creating the Medalist series. When the anime adaptation was announced, Haruse was successfully cast as Inori, fulfilling Tsurumaikada's original vision.
- In Medalist, there is a rule where an athlete's name must include an animal reference. Athletes who lack an animal reference are ones who are cast away from the fate of skating.[1] For more details, see Animal References in Medalist.
