    Mika on the ice

Mika started skating because Nozomi wanted her to try out various activities. After trying different things, figure skating turned out to be the best fit. Although she couldn't land a triple jump, she passed Badge Test Level 6 and even won the Chubu Block Tournament in the Novice B division, and was considered a rising star at Meijo Crown FSC.[1]

During this time, she also befriended the younger Iruka Okazaki. She commended her talent and encouraged her to try for the Olympics, and the two of them would make many promises. However, in 6th grade, she fractured a bone and was unable to participate in competitions during her Novice A years, leading her to take a break from skating. As she entered middle school, she made friends and began enjoying her days. Eventually, life without skating became the norm.[1]

Around this time, Inori was having trouble adjusting to group life in kindergarten, and Mika continuing to skate would have required significant support from Nozomi. Valuing her family above figure skating, Mika chose to quit the sport to ease her mother's burden. Although the decision brought her to tears, Mika had a variety of other hobbies and was able to adapt well.[1][2]

Later, Mika travels abroad to study in Canada, where she also takes on some part-time modeling work. She first appears in the story after Inori too begins skating and is about to compete in the Meikoh Cup. Mika returns from Canada to watch Inori perform, and assures her that despite their mother's appearance of disinterest, she is actually very enthusiastic about Inori skating.[3]

Mika continues to appear at various points in the story to support Inori at her later competitions.
