Story[]
Rintaro has been friends with Shoya Kijita and Atsushi Wani since their skating days. Now, all three have moved into the coaching field, with Rintaro working as an assistant coach at Meijo Crown FSC.[1]
Rintaro first appears in the story during the Chubu Block Tournament. After witnessing the newly rising skater Inori Yuitsuka take the gold, Rintaro invites her coach, Tsukasa Akeuraji, to dinner along with Shoya and Atsushi. He initially intends to pry Tsukasa's coaching secrets out of him until they are interrupted by Shinichiro Sonidori and Seiji Gori's arrival. When Seiji asks Shinichiro how he got Yuna Yagi to land her 3Lz3Lz + 3Lo3Lo, Rintaro accuses him of trying to take a younger coach's secrets, despite doing the same a moment ago.[1]
Later, just before the All-Japan Novice, Rintaro is among the first to witness Inori's Quadruple Salchow at Nagoya Sports Center.[2] The following year, he appears again the at a training camp in Osaka.[3]
